Services

1 . Education, Care and Learning (childhood and adolescence)

The Medical and Educational Institutes (IME ) welcomes and supports children and adolescents with severe disability due to mental and / or impairment of a “disability preventing them from realizing their lives  in autonomous way ". The institutions, which working closely the with families, strive to enable each young person to prepare for the social reality and / or professional  in his adult life. The services offered, stimulate and inspire every young to  optimally use his expression abilities.

- Special Education Services and Home Care ( SESSAD )  aim to ensure equity of care and special education at home for children with intellectual disabilities.

1. Support consisting of :

  • advice and support for families and familiar surroundings of the child in difficulty,
  • deepening the diagnosis,
  • support the personal and professional development of the person

2;support for school integration and the acquisition of autonomy

Classes Inclusion School ( LCIS) and Inclusion Unit Localized School ( ULIS ) supplement this system and are designed to enable the support into mainstream schooling of some children and adolescents.

2 - Social and Professional Life ( adult workers ESAT , with or without accommodation )

Inclusion through employment

The Association considers that the work has been and remains a powerful tool for integration of the userGenet D’or has developed over the years a wide range of products and services in the most varied fields of industry, crafts and culture.

Demonstrating their expertise in meeting the needs of customers in difficult and competitive markets, the sheltered workshops ( ESAT ) des Moulins d'Or represent a place in society


Hébergement

Différentes formules d’hébergement et d’accompagnement sont proposées à ces ouvriers en fonction de leurs besoins et de leur degré d’autonomie.

4- Secteur Personnes Agées Dépendantes

Face au vieillissement de la population ainsi qu’à celui des personnes en situation de handicap mental, l’Association Les Genêts d’Or a créé en 1989 son premier établissement d’hébergement de personnes âgées dépendantes (EHPAD) à Brest. Depuis, deux autres établissements ont vu le jour en 1990 et 1994.

Depuis l’année 2000, l’Association possède une autorisation d’accueil conjoint permettant l’accompagnement et la prise en charge en EHPAD de personnes handicapées âgées, avec des moyens spécifiques dédiés.

Les projets d’Établissements et de soins de ces structures s’inscrivent dans une démarche d’amélioration continue de la qualité et la prise en compte personnalisée des besoins et projets de vie des résidents. Le confort, la santé, le bien-être, ainsi qu’une volonté d’ouverture sur l’extérieur et de développement des liens intergénérationnels, sont des objectifs majeurs au sein des EHPAD.

Les pratiques des établissements sont en conformité avec les principes énoncés dans la charte des droits et libertés de la personne âgée dépendante.


Living arrangement

Different accommodation options and assistance are offered to these workers according to their needs and their degree of autonomy.

3 - Sector supporting dependent handicapped adults (adults not working)

The Association welcomes and supports men and women with intellectual disabilities , severe disabilities , in various nursing homes :

  • The Homes of Life ( EOL )
  • The Hearth Home (FAM )

permanent home of adults , from 18 years with a mental disability who cannot work because of their lack of autonomy . This population does not however require constant medical and paramedical care.

The support is based on learning retention and development of autonomy in daily living, socialization, organization of leisure and other activities

adults (from 18 years) with physical disabilities , mental ( intellectual disabilities or mental disabled patients ) , or suffering from multiple disabilities , whose total or partial dependence has been granted by the Commission on Human Rights and Autonomy persons with Disabilities ( CDAPH )

- people requiring medical management coupled with traditional educational support . Here required the assistance of a third person for most essential acts of life.

• Hospitality House (MAS)

o disabled adults at least 16 years , without a minimum of autonomy and whose condition requires medical supervision and constant care ,

o psychiatric disorders should not be predominant ,

o no age limit , but the disability must be found before age 60 .


4 - Supporting Dependent Elderly Persons

Faced with an aging population Association Les Genets d'Or in 1989 created his first hosting institution for elderly dependent ( nursing homes ) in Brest. Since then, two other institutions were born in 1990 and 1994.

Since 2000, the Association has an authorization to support and care in nursing homes of elderly people with disabilities , with specific dedicated resources .

The establishments and care of these structures are in continuous improvement on what concerns their quality and the inclusion of the personal needs and users’ life projects within the services provided. The institutional practices are in line with what foreseen within  the UN CRPD.
